# Connect a store

A store is one account on a channel: a Shopify store, or an eBay account on one marketplace. Crossmart never asks for your marketplace password. You sign in on the channel’s own site and approve Crossmart there, and the channel sends you back.

Connecting a store needs the **Owner** or **Admin** role, and your plan sets how many stores you can connect.

## Connect

1. Open **Channels** in the dashboard and pick the channel.

2. Click **Connect** and name the account:

   - **Shopify:** your store’s domain, the `your-store` part of `your-store.myshopify.com`. Find it in your Shopify admin under **Settings → Domains**. Your own domain won’t work here.
   - **eBay:** the marketplace you sell on, such as eBay US or eBay UK. Connect each marketplace separately; you sign in with the same eBay account.

3. Sign in on the channel and approve Crossmart. You come back to the store’s page in Crossmart.

Each channel’s page has the details: [Shopify](https://docs.crossmart.io/channels/shopify/), [eBay](https://docs.crossmart.io/channels/ebay/). [Google Shopping](https://docs.crossmart.io/channels/google-shopping/) and [Etsy](https://docs.crossmart.io/channels/etsy/) are coming soon.

## Bring your products in

- **From a Shopify store:** on a connected Shopify store, click **Import products from Shopify**. Products already in your catalog (same handle or SKU) are linked, not copied, and new ones are created with their stock. Running the import again is safe. See [Shopify: importing your catalog](https://docs.crossmart.io/channels/shopify/#import-your-catalog).
- **From a file:** under **Imports**, upload a Shopify product export (CSV). Products whose handle is already in your catalog are skipped, and rows with problems are listed with their row number. A two-column `sku, available` file updates stock.
- **By hand:** **Products → New product**.

## Finish the store’s setup

Some channels need details before anything can be published. Until they’re done, the store’s page shows **Finish setup to publish** with the list of what is missing, and products added to the store wait in [Needs details](https://docs.crossmart.io/sellers/listing-states/).

| Channel | What the setup asks for |
| - | - |
| Shopify | Nothing |
| eBay | A shipping, payment and return policy, and where items ship from, under **Listing defaults** ([details](https://docs.crossmart.io/channels/ebay/#listing-defaults)) |
| Google Shopping | The country and the product page address, under **Listing setup** |
| Etsy | Who made the items, when, whether they’re supplies, and a shipping and processing profile |

## Reconnect a store

A channel can stop accepting Crossmart’s access, for example when you uninstall the app or the sign-in expires. The store then shows **Reconnect this store to keep it in sync**, and nothing reaches it until you click **Reconnect** and approve Crossmart again. Your products, listings and settings are kept.

Shopify may also show **This store needs new permissions** when a feature, such as showing products in your Online Store or reading orders, needs an approval you haven’t given yet. Click **Approve in Shopify** once; nothing else changes.

## Disconnect a store

**Disconnect** in the store’s page stops all syncing to it and deletes the access Crossmart holds. Your products stay in your catalog.

Your marketplace sign-in is stored encrypted, is never shown again, and is never written to logs. Crossmart reads only what it needs from orders: what was sold, never who bought it.
