Crossmart Agent

Crossmart Agent is an AI agent you chat with inside Crossmart. You ask it to do something, such as “Fix my failed eBay listings”, and it looks up what it needs and proposes the changes. Nothing changes until you approve. While it works, you see on a live map of your catalog and stores what it is reading and changing, next to a stream of everything that happens in your workspace.

It works inside Crossmart, so no assistant of your own is needed. Outside agents you connect use the same tools and limits.

  • The sidebar: Crossmart Agent, where Channel map used to be. Old links to the channel map open this page.
  • Anywhere: the Crossmart Agent button in the header, or Cmd+J (Ctrl+J on Windows and Linux).
  • A store with failed listings: Fix with Crossmart Agent on the store’s card opens the page with a message ready to send (“Fix the failed listings on …”). Edit it or press send.
  • A product’s page: the product’s Channel map card has Open in Crossmart Agent. There, “this product” means that product.

A conversation keeps running while you visit other pages; come back to see where it is.

The page has three parts side by side. On a phone they are three tabs: Chat, Map and Events.

To make room, the page opens with the app’s sidebar collapsed to its icons. Open it with the button at the top left; Crossmart remembers your choice for this page in this browser.

Your conversation with Crossmart Agent. Earlier conversations are under Conversations, and the pen button starts a new one. Only you see your conversations. Each step the agent takes shows as a short line, such as “List a store’s products by state · 3 found”, and changes it proposes wait in a Review the changes card (see below).

Your catalog and every store it feeds. Each store’s card counts its products in five groups:

Count What it holds
Published Live in the store
Pending On their way: ready to publish, publishing, or being removed
Needs details Waiting for something the marketplace requires, such as an https image or item specifics
Failed The store refused the last publish or update
Not listed Products of your catalog that are not in the store

Click a count to open those products: the store’s Listings tab, filtered to that state (or, for Not listed, the products table). Needs details shows what each product is missing and a button that opens the place to fix it; see Listing states.

Above the map, a status bar shows at a glance:

  • Stores: how many are connected with no failed listings, of all your stores.
  • Listings: how many are live, how many failed, and how many need details.
  • Agent: idle, working, or waiting for your approval.
  • Last sync: when a store last synced.

The map shows what Crossmart Agent is doing as it does it:

  • The store or the catalog it is working on is outlined, with a label: “Reading: List a store’s products by state”, “Proposed: 3 changes”, “Updating: …”, “Applied: …”.
  • A number on a store counts the changes waiting for you there. Click it to go to them in the chat.
  • While an approved change is on its way to a store, the line to that store moves. The counts update as the store’s listings are published or fail.

A live timeline of what happens in your workspace, newest first:

  • Crossmart Agent’s steps: what it read, what it proposed, what you approved or rejected, and what was applied or failed.
  • Other agents and programs: changes made through MCP or an API key, named after the agent or key.
  • Listings published or refused, with the marketplace’s reason.
  • Stock: levels a store refused, and corrections made by the regular stock check.
  • Orders as they arrive.
  • Webhook deliveries that failed.

Filter it with All, Agent, Stores, Orders or Errors. On a wide screen, Hide events (in its header) gives the map the room; the rail left in its place counts new events and brings the column back. Crossmart remembers your choice in this browser. Point at an event to outline its store or product on the map; click it to open what it is about (a product, an order, a store, a webhook, or the changes waiting in the chat). On a phone, the Events tab counts the events you haven’t seen, and the Map tab lights up while the agent is working.

Which events you see depends on your role: orders need permission to view orders, webhook failures need permission to manage webhooks, and only your own conversations show agent steps. Other people’s approved changes still show, as changes by Crossmart Agent on their behalf.

Crossmart Agent works with your catalog, stock, stores and orders. For example:

  • “Which products are low on stock?”
  • “Fix my failed eBay listings”
  • “Publish the Linen Shirt to my Outlet store”
  • “Rewrite titles for Etsy”
  • “Add 20 units of the M size, stock received”
  • “Change the price of the M size to $43”

It can find products, stock, listings, orders and reports, edit products and prices, adjust stock, add products to stores and take them off, and ask Crossmart’s AI for content. It can also answer questions about Crossmart itself.

It can’t connect or disconnect stores, manage members or API keys, change settings or billing, or manage webhooks. Do those yourself in the dashboard.

When Crossmart Agent only needs to look something up, it does so right away.

When it wants to change something, it stops and shows a Review the changes card. Each change says what it does in plain words, which product and store it touches, and the values Now and After, such as “Price (M): $48.00 → $43.00”. Longer text, such as a description, shows which words change.

  • Tick the changes you want and click Approve selected. The ones you leave unticked are rejected.
  • Reject all turns them all down.
  • If you send a new message instead, the changes still waiting are dropped.

Approved changes run with your permissions at that moment, and each one shows whether it was applied or failed. Crossmart Agent then carries on with the results. Every change is recorded in Activity as “Crossmart Agent” on your behalf.

Stop ends what Crossmart Agent is doing.

Some changes carry a red badge and need a second step. Before Approve selected works, you tick a box such as “I understand this deletes”.

Badge When
Deletes The change deletes something or takes it off sale
Changes prices The change sets a price or compare-at price that differs from today’s
Many items The change touches more than 5 items, or your approval publishes more than 5 listings

If text Crossmart Agent read in that step looks like instructions to an AI (for example, a product description that says “ignore previous instructions”), the card warns you: “Text read in this turn looked like instructions; review carefully”. Crossmart Agent treats what it reads as data, and it can still only propose; you decide.

Every time Crossmart Agent calls the AI model, it uses one AI credit, the same as Crossmart’s other AI features. One message can take several calls, because it calls the model again after each lookup. A message makes at most 8 calls.

  • If you have no credits left, Crossmart Agent can’t start.
  • If credits run out partway through, it stops and keeps what it already did.

The map and the events don’t use AI credits. Your credits are under Settings → Plan & usage.

Owners, Admins and Editors can chat with Crossmart Agent. Approvers and Viewers can open the page and follow the map and the events, but can’t chat. A custom role can include the chat with the agent_worker:use permission (see Roles and permissions); the map and events need permission to view activity.

Crossmart Agent can never do more than your role allows. If your role can’t make a change, the change is refused when you approve it, and the card says so.

  • A sandbox account (one an AI agent created for you that you haven’t claimed yet) can’t chat with Crossmart Agent. Claim the account first.
  • A read-only account (when the subscription isn’t paid) can still chat with Crossmart Agent and look things up, but it can’t propose changes.
  • One message at a time per conversation. Wait for the answer, or press Stop.

Conversations are kept for 180 days after the last message, then deleted.
